It is crucial that you properly drain down your motorhome water system in order to get every last drop out of the water from the pipes. If you don’t, the water will freeze and may expand, which could cause splitting your water pipes, even metal pipes, leading to damage of the interior, and costly repairs.
A simple way to get every last drop of water out is to open all of the taps and the drain down valve and then go for a short drive.
Leave any taps fully open over the Winter in case there is any water trapped in the tap body.
You should also add anti-freeze to any waste water tanks, and the u-bends of toilets where water cannot be fully emptied.
